Feeling The Cold - Friday

Brrrr... Winter is coming... We had our first really good frost this morning... Right now our drawers are packed with warm and cool clothes... So, that had to be taken care of today now that it will stay cold and not flip flop back and forth... So, out came all the warm stuff minus one outfit for that odd day and in went all the cool weather stuff... Talk about a PROJECT!!! Whew! Every one's drawers were a messed... We had drawers w/ a pair of shorts in them, t-shirt, pair of jeans, socks, underwear, etc... All in ONE drawer! I'm like no wonder everything looks like it was in a crumpled heap on the floor when you put it on... ::smirk:: I'm glad that is taken care of... I don't know if I updated.... I did some reorganizing and found those missing pieces for the quilt I wanted to work on... I'm ready to sew next week... I only have one appointment and the rest of the days I'm sewing!!! I had my 2nd Women of Grace Study Group meeting today... I just love Johnnette... She is just a breath of fresh air in this flat world I live in... Short post today but changing of seasons is a big task for a family of 6 which I know many of my readers with families of my size and larger can completely relate to... Talk to you all tomorrow...

::before and after PICS to come... need to download them from my camera::

Mixed Up - Monday / To Do List - Tuesday

Monday was kind of an off day... I went to an appointment only to find I had remembered and wrote down several times the wrong day... I caught up on laundry... I reorganized my quilting drawers... I guess a while back the children knocked it over and my husband being helpful picked it all up but everything was mixed up... I also realized I'm missing 10 pieces of fabric for a quilt I had planned on working on... That's frustrating... I rested in the afternoon/evening... I have a little bit of a cold...

I rested most of the morning... I still have that cold... It's about the same as it was yesterday... I ran a ton of errands today... One place had a waiting time of almost 2 hours before I could be helped and take care of why I was there... It was downtown... I was in 1/2 hour parking and ran out and moved to 90 minute parking... Glad I didn't have to move again... It is all taken care of so I'm glad I took the time to just wait it out... It was really bothering me that I hadn't been able to do this last Thursday/Friday... I dropped off paper work at a couple of places... It was another thing that had been bothering me that I wasn't able to take care of last week... I dropped off donations to a local clothing pantry... I went to the post office to mail bills and my brother's birthday gift... I stopped in person and paid our car insurance... It is due within a few days once the month begins so by the time payday comes and everything I rarely have time to mail it... I'm glad the office is only a few blocks from our house... I shopped at Walmart for this years supplies of undershirts and PJs... I found Peanut's Christmas Eve PJs... I know she is going to be excited when she sees them... I picked up an electric pencil sharpener... Our manuals have been just eating the pencils... It will make homework pleasant... We have been using pen... I made sausage gravy n' biscuits and chicken enchiladas today... I need to get the laundry moving again...

What Else Needs To Be Done - Wednesday

I paid one of my last three bills due this month... I ordered Peanut her Aqua Head Band and earplugs for her ear tubes surgery... So, we all set for that... I picked out fabric for the anniversary mystery quilt...
I'm not sure when I will cut or sew the pieces but I have my fabric set aside... I also picked out fabric for a surprise birthday gift... I took Monkey to the store and picked up a few groceries including more Milk... It seems to be flying out the door these days... Going to have to do some milk intake/wasting adjustments... I visited a friend and took her a meal (a portion of my famous 17 lb lasagna)... She had surgery last week... She looked good but tired... We only stayed for a little bit then left so she could rest... I watched another episode of Highway To Heaven... I'm half way done with the disc... I planned out all I have to accomplish tomorrow...

This That and The Other Thing

Not much to report since Wednesday... I went to the local quilt show hosted by the local guild it was eh... ok... I can now say I've been and don't plan to go back again for as long as I live here... Don't get me the wrong the quilts were indescribable... No words I could type here could do justice to their beauty but the hosts and other quilt goers... Talk about a room full of snobs... You think I was some thief waiting for their backs to be turned and steal something... Very un welcoming... Exactly how they behaved at the guild meeting... Only been there once and never going back there again either... It was like I was a joke for just showing up with my first row not even a finished quilt... When I showed my first paper pieced block that was entered into a drawing and won a DVD was some kind of entertainment... You would have thought I was a hired clown... It's a total mockery and inferiority if you make your quilts with non quilt shop only fabric and don't pay hundreds of dollars to have it long armed quilted or spend years hand quilting it yourself... I find that just close minded... Making a quilted item is more then how much you paid to make it or how many ribbons/awards it wins or how much is sells for... It's an emotion expressed by the Quilter with fabric for another to feel upon being wrapped up in it or viewing it... I've talked to hundreds of Quilters from all over the world and our guild is somewhat unique with it's hoity toity attitudes... So, beware! I dropped off and picked up our home school groups directory... It turned out magnificent... Better then I could ever expect... Great job Kinkos! There is an added surprise related to it's printing but I can't share till after our opening mass and pizza party for the group... ::wink:: We started our CCD classes... I'm using a new curriculum this year and haven't quite figured it out yet... It is a program called Family Faith Formation... This month's "theme" is Angels... I picked up several supplemental texts from our fabulous Catholic Bookstore in town, Holy Family... I sure will miss that place when we leave... I hope to find a new one in my new 'home'... I'm all ready for 40 days for life... I'm excited about being able for the first time to attend Walk with Christ for Life Sunday with the Bishop this year... I'm just hope I'm up for the Eucharistic procession from the Cathedral to our only abortion facility in the ENTIRE state... I was given some items to eBay... I now have to figure out how to go about listing them... I have some thoughts and will keep you updated... I'm excited about my new 'project'... Linebacker is doing well... We have successfully been able to adjust his nursing schedule... I will know better our success at his next weight in... I guess there isn't much more to write... I will write when I can...

Where To Begin Melting Monday

Yesterday was a good day... It was Monkey's Birthday... We went to Mass, had McDonald's Birthday Lunch (his pick), went to the library, Kmart, and grocery store... We had a Birthday Pizza Dinner with Cheese Sticks... He loved his ice cream cake from DQ... He opened all his presents and cards... For presents he received a plastic track set with train shed the included in Thomas... Gordon and Henry for the plastic track... He also recieved the Train Wash that goes with the plastic track set... He recieved Bill and Ben for the travel/take along and play set... Battery Powered Thomas for the wood track set... He has a new Thomas Bowl, Plate and Spoon/Fork Set... I will share PICS after I download them from the camera...

Today was a quiet and tiring day... 80 Days Left To Go... None of us are adjusting well to the time change... We overslept 20 minutes... That is a lot in our house... LOL... I didn't go any where except to drop off and pick up my oldest... On the way home from picking up my oldest I ran to the bank to cash a check and drop something off at a friend's house... It was ALMOST nice enough to walk... How exciting is that... Just a little peek at spring... Everything is starting to melt just a bit... It is still above freezing at 1/2 past 8 at night... I received a new quilting book today in the mail called 40 Bright and Bold Paper Pieced Stars... I also received more foundation paper and a 12" add a quarter ruler for those really long pieces that need to be trimmed... My 6" add a quarter wasn't working so well any more... My oldest had a rough start to ST but settled down and worked well today... He had an off weekend... Not sure if the time change is related... We could really use some prayers relating to him... I'm signing off to rest up for a very busy morning/day tomorrow...

To Do List Wednesday

Today I had a long to do list of things I accomplished... Peanut had her EI screening... She has to be 50% in one area OR 25% delayed in 2 or more areas of development to qualify... She isn't 50% delayed in speech so she will have to qualify the other way if she qualifies... They will review all their observations and tally the scores... Next I and our DDCase Manager (same one we have for our oldest) at the human resources center will receive a report... A. she will be enrolled in EI and EI will start visiting on a regular basis, followed by a transition meeting when she turns 3 into school district to begin Pre-K A in September... B. we will wait and have the school district screen her for preschool (August or September) after she turns in 3... EI is only Birth to 3... After that you work with private therapist and/or the school district... She had ST today and did wonderful again... I talked with ST about the screening... Picked up my oldest who had OT... He did better then he has in a while but still much room for improvment as far as behavior goes... Psychologist came and observed again today for data to develop a behavior plan... I worked on my Round Robin... I studied it and figured out how to add the next round... Right now it's an odd size 19.25 unfinished size... So, I worked out a way I think so after I add my round of 4.5" it will be 22.5" unfinished size... If it works I will share the info on how I did that... If not well, I will be soliciting for advice... ::smirk:: Hopefully I will be able to start sewing it together soon... Balanced my ledger and worked out a withdrawal slip so I can pay for a couple things with cash instead of waiting for a check to clear...

Not To Much To Do Tuesday

This morning I spend the morning picking out fabrics for the next round of my Round Robin... I have it all picked out and pattern chosen... All I need to do now is make a cutting list and cut out all the pieces I will need... I'm really excited and can't wait to see how great this next round looks... I love that I'm using up some of the fabrics in my stash... I found out my 'surprise' item I bought for baby will arrive on Friday so look for an update on my blog then... ::grin:: I went to the PO mail packages for my husband and mail the last of the household bills for the month.... I went to the Dentist and gave them our pre-agreed upon monthly payment... Looks like one more payment and we are done until insurances can do their part and then we will have to pay on the balance again... I ran to the store because we were out of milk and juice... I also picked up butter (for cookies), cheese, eggs, beans, and cereal... I spent the afternoon researching Birth and Labor... I also made a quick stop at the North library for a book... I had it on reserve at the South library but it was due Feb 17th! So, doesn't look like that one is coming in anytime soon if EVER!!! @@ I don't know what people don't understand about borrowing things from the library... If you need it you CAN check it out more then once... GASP!!! Just ruins it for the rest of us who do follow the rules... I have a couple books on reserve about birth... I hope they come in soon... I have couple books like I will have to Inter-library loan because our copy is in storage while they rebuild the Downtown library...

Too Much Tuesday/Round Robin UPDATE

Today was a long and tiring day with no nap to catch up on a few zzzz's... I was super early to take my oldest to an appointment... Happy news when I arrived home... The people had come and fixed our frig door... Yippee!!! I was out again running errands... I mailed the last of my packages and a few envelopes... I stopped by quilting and dropped off the quilt I've been working on so someone else can pick up where I left off and work on it... It is from the quilt teacher at the Cathedral... I also finished my round robin this morning... What do you all think? Awesome! Right? The photos do not do justice to the beauty of these quilts...
Here is my center with Ruth's 1st Round... She turned my block on point...
Here is Ruth's center with my 1st Round... I used my fabric type of fabric... Paisley! My oldest had his conference today... They have seen the same positive changes we had seen since the medicine addition... So, that is exciting... It was great to hear such a positive report... He is happier, calmer and self motivated to earn different activities back and is willing to work on issues so he can enter the mainstream classroom again... How very awesome... I registered Monkey for K... I also signed him up for Safety Town... It is a 2 week summer program that focuses on Safety with visits from the Police, Fire Station, Ambulance, etc... I'm sure he is going to love it! I'm very excited for him... I was the last day for our Tuesday Respite Worker... She is starting a new job... So, we are losing yet another person... I hope we have so new people soon... We are supposed to have 40 hours a month of respite... After our Tuesday gal leaves who was the best! We will be down to 20 actually being staffed... Very frustrating! As a fun way to spend the rest of our evening we took the children to a second hand store to pick up toys with Valentine's Day money...

Here is what they picked out:I also found two after baby skirts... I just realize nursing in a jumper with no snaps, buttons or other openings would prove impossible! So, I'm stocking up on bottoms... I have a ton of cute nursing tops... So, my jumpers will go in storage till we wean... They make great maternity wear though... Sooo comfy... I was looking at the more closely when I came home... One is Liz Claiborne and the other Talbot... The only reason I've even heard of Talbot is because their store is next to the food court at the mall... I've never been in there... I bought both skirts for $10... LOL!!! I can't imagine what they are full price... They look new! Why anyone would buy them from a retail store is mind boggling... I truly agree with the Duggars saying... Buy Used and Save the Difference... I can't believe I ever bought stuff from a retail store... I wasted soo much money... Especially considering the resale value after you buy it! I was completely shocked at the garage sale... Things I wore maybe 2-3 times and I was lucky to get more then $1 and I paid $20-30... INSANE!!! Never again... The psych made another visit to gather info for her behavior plan...

100 Days

Yes, only 100 days or less till I welcome my newest little blessing to our family... Today was better then yesterday... Not quite so emotional... We had a visitor... My friends 14 month old... He was here from noon till almost 7... So, funny because my friend has the hardest time putting him down for naps... He fell asleep right on schedule with our napping time... So, we all had a nice nap... I had to move everyone around so he could have the crib... That was the safest place for him to nap... Since he isn't mine I wasn't going to co-sleep with him... Peanut had ST and we talked about things that happened yesterday... My oldest had OT for the first time in a while... He was quite wild but calmed down eventually... We talked about all that is happening here and the current services we are trying to set up... Other then managing 4 children well expecting one I didn't do much today... I ripped out a few stitches on my opps... I have two more pieces to work on and then I can re-sew... I will probably do some knitting once I sign off of here... Haven't picked that up today... It will be a good way to unwind this evening...

Wednesday

I think I waited too many days... It's hard to remember what happened Wednesday... Let's see... I worked on my round robin... I'm very close to finishing... I made Easy Chicken Parmesan... I will share the recipe later... I received a call and details about what we are doing for surgery... I didn't make it to my 'mommy' group... Can't remember why now... Peanut had ST and did well... No, OT for my oldest this week because OTist is out of town... I received a letter saying I don't have gestational diabetes... Woo hoo!!! A big storm is expected to hit tomorrow... I have no clue what happened today... I made Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars... They were delicious... I tried to go to bed early because I knew I had to be up but couldn't sleep... My husband had to snow throw what snow had fallen and put out the trash for trash pick up tomorrow... I guess I will end the post and hope I didn't miss anything too important... LOL!!!

So Much To Do Monday

Yesterday was busy... We ran around like crazy... We attended Mass... I ran into the library to pick up a couple videos for myself and restock the children's... We stopped at the mall and my husband picked up his contacts... We went to Lowe's to look at what fridge we could buy in stock... We also looked at Sears, and Best Buy... We went to Walmart and Target... We eventually went back to Lowes and finally bought a fridge... It had to be specially ordered... This is the one coming in less then two weeks: GE 16.6 Cu. Ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator White... Our oldest had a rough night... He busted another part of his window in his room... So, we are one thin layer away from the frigid temperatures... I made a new kind of crock pot beef roast... It was delicious... I will try to share the recipe later if I remember...We also had squash from out of the garden I had processed and froze... Today I had my delicious glucose test to test for Gestational Diabetes... I also provided my birth plan... I had planned on knitting on my blessings blanket but things just didn't work out that way... I only managed to do one row... So, I'm 9 rows away from the color change... My round robin center arrived today with my friend's first round... It is awesome!!! The photo she emailed doesn't do just to the beauty... I picked up my oldest... He had a wonderful day at school but a terrible session with the ST... He was very aggressive... I've had a busy day and I'm pretty tired... I'm going to call it a day and see you all tomorrow!!!

Super Frozen Saturday

It is insanely cold here again today... We are currently under a Blizzard Warning... It was supposed to end today at 6 but the extended it till 9 AM on Sunday... We had just a tiny bit of snow but with the high winds it creates blizzard conditions... We also have icy cold wind chills of the lovely -30s and -40s... I went out today and mailed a package at the PO... To lazy to wrap it before I left yesterday so I had to go out again today... I also stopped at the ATM for some Cash for my husband... We headed out together and stopped at the $1 store downtown that is going out of business... They are up to 35% off... We stopped at the library... Did some eBay shopping with the Cash... We then headed across town again to shop for fridges... We are having the hardest time finding a fridge for our home... We are going out again and it's going to be find something and buy it even if we have to settle on something less then what we want... I hate that! Price isn't our problem it's finding a fridge to fit in the space we have for a fridge... We also made a quick stop at Target before heading home... Tonight was snacky night... We had steak quesadillas, steak fries, onion rings, and chicken strips... I took a late nap but wake up feeling a bit sick... I hope I'm not catching something again... ::sigh:: I did only a tiny bit of knitting and no sewing... I'm still 10 rows away from switching colors...

Fish Friday

I baked another batch of fish this morning... I also mananged to stitch quite a bit on my Round Robin... I only have one side left to complete the first round... I think it looks really cool... I will share PICS of my 1st round and my friend's first round when my round is complete... Knitting is going slow... I'm not sure if I will finish all 75 rows tonight or not... I hope so... I think a new color will renew me... I went to church but they didn't have Stations... They realized that this was done last year and since we have new Priests they weren't aware so hopefully they will be able to set it up and have it next Friday... I'm going to really miss it if they don't do it this year... I've been going during Lent on every Friday since 2005... I headed over to my oldest program to talk with his teacher... I signed some forms and picked up his IEP... I then headed to the PO to mail something... Peanut had ST... She seems to be having stranger anxiety about it but settles in after the ST has been here a bit... I'm not sure why she is sooo upset... She really doesn't like it when I leave her... I didn't think this was common at 2-1/2... I thought it was more of a 18 month old thing and then they out grew out... She has been more clingy then the boys when it comes to being with someone other then mama... At least she isn't too upset when I leave her with daddy... It's more she's mad she can't go then upset because I'm leaving her with someone other then me... We are supposed to have some pretty nasty weather tonight and it is going to be frigid again with the -40 wind chills... YECK! I thought we were done with that weather... I guess not... Is it March yet?

Milestone Thursday

I am now officially 24 weeks... I've been thinking about what to strive for during this Lenten Season... One of the things I'm going to work on is only being at the computer when the schedule says it's computer time not just any time I happen to not be doing something... I waste too much time sitting here... I didn't do any sewing this morning on the Round Robin because I spent the morning removing stitches from my opps... That was harder then I thought it was going to be... Those stitches were sooo tiny!!! I finished and now I can continue on with my project... I am up to 55 of 75 rows knitted on my blessings blanket so I have been busy with that... I'm going to try and make it to 75 and start the color change tonight if I can... I stopped a friends to drop off a compact she needed... I also ran to the store for the one thing forgotten... I also made a trip to the PO to mail a package... My oldest had a landmark session today in ST... It is the best session they have had in MONTHS!!! She had a student with her today and will be with her every Thursday... So, maybe he was showing off?!? Today he broke his timeout streak... Oh well... I'm going to try something with the schedule tonight... Hopefully it works...

Ash Wednesday

Today was a pretty good day... I went with my oldest to the 8 AM Ash Wednesday service... It was not easy at all but we made it through... He has gone the whole week so far with no time outs... Woo hoo!!! Sr. gave me a book on Autism while I was there... I made it to MACH I this morning... I only made it to half but I hadn't been in almost 10 weeks so that was an accomplishment in it's self... We talked about Lectio Divina Method... We read Isaiah Chapter 58 using the method... How appropriate it was for today since that passage is about Fasting... I baked a large batch of fish for the family to eat through out the day instead of heating the oven up over and over... I also whipped up some Tuna salad for today and Friday... I took a very much needed shower this morning... So, my morning was quite packed... My husband, the little ones and I all attended the noon Ash Wednesday service at the Cathedral downtown... We saw few of our friends from FM-CHE... Peanut had ST... I dropped off something at a friends and picked up my oldest... I knitted a bit more on my blessings blanket... I'm up to 40 of 75 rows done on the first block... I have 9 blocks to make to complete the blanket... It is so beautiful... I will share a PIC after I switch from green to yellow... I did a bit of sewing on my round robin... I didn't line up some pieces right and now I have to rip it out and cut new pieces... Opps... Happens to even the professionals... I hope to make it further tomorrow since I won't have all this running around to do in the morning... The schedule was off today but we still did well...

Terrific FAT Tuesday!

I felt pretty good today... A bit tired since we fell off our schedule the later part of the day yesterday... Today things are on track and looking great... I did some wonderful things I hadn't done in a long time... I worked on my round robin... Woo hoo!!! I also knitted on my blessings blanket... It is going to be wonderful to wrap him in a blanket made by momma! I'm knitting it loosely since he is a 'summer' baby... It is baby yellow, baby green and baby blue... I'm using a rib stitch and switch/interrupted rib stitch... I'm working in baby green at the moment... Lent is just knocking on the door... I'm look forward to giving my prayer life a working over... It's not what it was or should be... I did a few errands today... I dropped off my mileage sheet for the month of January, refilled my oldest month RXs, dropped off 1st of the month paper work, paid a few bills, stopped at the PO drop box, made a quick stop at the grocery because were out of milk and a couple other things, and picked up our officially FILED taxes... Now it's just wait till we can call and hear it has been deposited in the bank...

Slow Saturday

Today was a pretty slow day... Slept in a bit... I made Pizzas for dinner... Recipe below... When I woke up I made a lb of bacon (just easier to cook it all at once when the pan is hot and store it in the fridge for meals later)... We also had eggs and bagels... We headed out to run errands... First stop was to the gas station... The needle was in the orange (lower then 1/8th tank)... Next was the dollar store downtown which my husband told me the last weekend is going out of business... They just remodeled... Go figure... A trip the library... I looked for a book about bread but they didn't have any... Next we headed across town and realized we should have stopped at the dry cleaners... So, we stopped at 3 different ones... One closes a noon, one closes at one and one closes at 2... It was quarter to 4... So, we headed back across town and stopped Walmart... We had lots of things to pick up like Cat Milk (pediasure), Wipes, Juice, Bagels, Cinnamon, Ketchup (on sale $3 for 64 oz) and a few other things... I also picked up rotary blades... $6 cheaper then JoAnn's... So, I hope to work on my round robin again soon... We made a quick stop at the grocery for meats for homemade pizzas (dinner tonight), bananas, grapes and apples... It was home head home and do thing around the house like hang black out curtains to block out the cold air leaking in an old window... We picked up Balto II at the library... I went online and found they actually have a Balto III... I wonder if the library has this one too! The children are really enjoying them... Now for the Pizza Recipes...

Pizza Crust (two 12" crusts):
3/4 C. Water
2 T. Olive Oil
2-1/2 C. Bread Flour
1 t. Salt
1-3/4 t. active dry Yeast

I put these things into my bread machine and let it do the work but you can certainly do it by hand if you choose... I've done it by hand but did the machine tonight because I napped while it was making my ingredients into dough... My machine takes about 75 minutes to make dough... Divide Dough in half and roll into 12" circles... Pre-Bake at 400 Degrees for 8-10 minutes or more depending on how 'brown' you like your crust...

Assembling A Pizza
Sauce - 1/2 Pint to 1 Pint (depending on how saucy you like it, I use my homemade frozen meatless spaghetti sauce, thawed)
Favorite Toppings Prepared - We had ground Italian Sausage browned and crumbled, ground Beef browned and crumbled, Pepperoni slices, Onion diced, Mushrooms sliced, Tomatoes diced...
Mozzarella Cheese Shredded

After your crust has been pre-baked... First is a layer of sauce and about 1/3 of the 8 oz shredded Mozzarella block... Next add your toppings minus the Tomatoes... We will be adding those later... Next is the other 2/3 of Mozzarella... Place in oven (400 degrees) and bake 8-14 minutes depending on how 'brown' you like your cheese... Ingredients should be hot, bubbly and melted cheese... Sprinkle on tomato and bake another 2-4 minutes until tomatoes are hot... Repeat depending on how many crusts you made...
Let cool slightly before slicing... ENJOY!!!

Sewing Saturday

I started on the next part of the Round Robin which is for me to add Round 1 to my friend's center featured in a previous blog publishing... I will share some photos as I finish it... Right now I have the designed the layout and picked out the fabric... I have all my pieces cut and labeled... It is another bitterly cold January day... I ran to the store for milk, juice, eggs, cheese, beans and cereal... My husband had to take the van because of fear his car won't start in the cold once he is finished with work so I'm here at home... Not that I would go anywhere in this cold... My friend's, Jen, new baby is being Baptized... I was going to take all the children alone and go... The day went down hill at nap time and now I'm trying to cope as best I can... Trying not to become too upset... I hate when things like this happen and my husband isn't here... I really need him right now!!! :*-( So, what I had planned to be a great day to sit down and do some sewing turned into a nightmare... ::sigh::

Round Robin Project - Quilting

I just started a new and exciting quilt project with my good friend, Ruth in Indiana... We met online VIA a Carol Doak Yahoo Paper Piecing Group... It will be one year in March... I signed up as a 'little' sister hoping someone would adopt me and help me along as I learned all the wonderful things about Carol Doak's Paper Piecing Patterns for Quilt Tops... Ruth was in the 'big' sister group and emailed me asking if she could 'adopt' me... I said that sounded like great fun... We have shared many emails over the months and grown close... She is an experienced quilter, seamstress and cake decorator... She's also quite the traveler... Many things I enjoy and hope to enjoy in life... Her children are grown and she has been blessed with one grandchild so far... I don't participate in many of the group activities because of my lack of experience and unpredictable life with raising a growing family with many young children... I never know if I will make a deadline or not so I hesitate to sign up for things with deadlines... So, we came together and decided to do a fun quilting project just between the two of us... Ideally you have a group of 5-7 women for a project like this... We are doing a project called a Round Robin... This is how it works... Each of the members of the group makes a center block... You then pass your block to another member who adds a 'round' or border to your center block... Your block circulates through the group and comes back to you to finish... So, when you are done you have a fabulous quilt worked on by many friends... You can set up many rules as to what color or patterns you wish for your quilt or you can leave it up to the 'imagination' of the next quilter to add on a 'round'... I have never made such a quilt and thought about doing one on my own... Ruth and I came together and decided we would pass our quilts back in forth and do a modified version...
Here is Ruth's Center on which I have to add the first round:
Here is my center on which she has to add the 1st round:
Next we will mail them back to the owner who will add the 2nd round and mail it back to the other member for a 3rd round.. Etc... We will continue back in forth till it reaches the 'desired' size... At that point we will sandwich, quilt and bind it... We are using quilt blocks from Carol Doak's all new book Mariner's Compass Stars... I hope you enjoy seeing the photos as each round is completed... Check back often for updates... Fun Filled Friday

Today I had a mostly good feeling day... I had some fun too... I started working on my new quilting project... I also went shopping for my little sweet baby boy... I picked him up several outfits... I probably overspent but I couldn't resist... LOL!!! Everything was soo adorable... I'm good unless he comes out 12+ lbs... ::grin:: I still have some coupons for free clothing/diapers that I need to use... I will do that some time next week probably... Peanut had ST today and she has started saying Mama again... She said it for a while and then I became Da Dee... Otherwise, it was a pretty quiet and uneventful day... I had planned on making a pot of soup but never made it to the store for the few things I needed like an onion and cabbage...
