Thirty-First Birthday Part I

I am 31 years old today... I scheduled my post to appear at the time I was born (12:26 PM)... I was due September 26th and weighted 6 lbs 4 oz... My mom teased me as a child that I was born just in time for lunch and never stopped eating...

My birthday didn't start out so well... I must have been very tired because the children woke up and I was awaken by a crash... This is what I found:
They were trying to climb the shelves so they could play a board game... ::sigh:: This was after I spent 30 minutes cleaning it up... So, I was kind of in a sour mood... My mood was soured even further by the fact I couldn't seem to leave the house... It took HOURS before I finally made it out to do what *I* wanted...
I also had to clean the computer desk off...
Before:
After:
My first stop was to drop off a dish towel to a friend... I was poured on... Next I stopped at Peanut's school because she had forgotten her library book... I finally then went to have my hair cut and donated to Locks Of Love... I donated 20"...
Pretty amazing huh?
I then headed home... We did some things around the house... My husband hadn't picked up my cake so instead of being at home with all the children... We decided we would all ride to the store for the cake... He took forever in the store and I was almost late to my first Nurturing Parent Class... It was a good class... I definetely belong there and fit in well... I'm very excited to receive my book and learn the Nurturing Parent Method and become a Nurturing Parent instead of what I am currently... ::frown::

Thirty-First Birthday Part II

After my class we had my 'party'...
Steaks and Presents... What could be better?

Yummm... Cake...

Gotta blow out the candles and make a wish before you can open presents...

Opening Presents...
One of my many presents... Paula Deen Red Tea Kettle...
My other presents included tennis shoes, underwear, cash, twin sling, renewal CCLi subscription, book: Radical Homemakers, book: Oh Yes, You Can Breastfeed Twins, School Pictures, and Nursing Cover...

More Monday

I know I have been gone for a while... Life was busy... Peanut had tubes put in her ears and 3 hours of dental work done under sedation... We went on vacation over 4th July weekend... This year we took our annual family vacation at Theodore Roosevelt National Park - North Unit... We primitive camped 4 days and 3 nights... Things were crazy but here I am... The problem we had in May finally had some results... This is a good and bad thing... So far with us cooperating things won't be come any more of a mess... As far as our little engineer's situation we are looking at another 6 weeks till we have an answer or not... We had a meeting and updated the files... Everything looks promising... We talked about other options if things don't go as planned... He has less then 2 weeks of ESY left... YEA!!! Peanut had her 4th birthday... It was a 'princess' Dora theme... She received some new clothes, Leapster 2 (pink/purple), 2 Leapster games (Dora and Disney Princess) a book and a Dora DVD... We grilled out burgers, hot dogs and chicken... Our computer was giving us all kinds of trouble but seems to have calmed down... Linebacker and Monkey are both doing well... Everyone is healthy... My husband made an amazing recovery from a issue he was having late one Saturday evening... I can't do anything but Thank God each and every day that we are rid of that evil that was in our home... Ordered and started using Catholic Woman's Daily Planner for 2009-2010... I read a wonderful book called Addicted To Stuff by Dale O'Leary... I signed for Full of Grace: Women and the Abundant Life Foundational Study in the fall... I'm currently working my way through A Mother's Rule of Life by Holly Pierlot... I made a major decision regarding the fall which I will reveal on Saturday... I have received as a gift, bought, or newly rediscovered on my bookshelf several other books I'm going to read this summer/fall/winter... They are When the Heart Cries (Amish Fiction) by Cindy Woodsmall, Domestic Church: Room by Room by Donna-Marie Cooper O'Boyle, The 25-Day Financial Makeover by Francine L. Huff, The Cross Country Quilters (quilting fiction) by Jennifer Chiaverini, Food Storage 101 by Peggy Layton and Holiness for Housewives by Dom Hubert van Zeller... I hope that catches everyone up... I hope to be blogging again now on my regular schedule...

Thankful Thursday

10 Things I'm Especially Thankful This Week

1. Warm Home
2. Functional Auto
3. Indoor Plumbing
4. Modern Medical Care
5. Plenty of Food
6. My Children
7. My Husband
8. Good Friends
9. Ability To Read
10. Religious Freedom

I dropped everyone off and headed to the dentist for visit... My second this week... It went very well... I stopped at Walmart to pick up Monkey's CARS Leapster game but they only had one and it the box was empty... ::frown:: So, I sat for 15 minutes and waited for TRU to open... It was cheaper there because I had coupon but I didn't really have time to wait for them to open... However I guess Walmart made the choice for me... I was about 10 minutes late coming home... I went and picked Peanut up and at a 'snacky' lunch... We had buffalo strips, mozzerella bites, pot stickers, creamed corn, pepperoni/sausage mini pizza and mini chicken egg rolls... We didn't want to fix a 'meal' because we knew we couldn't eat meat tomorrow... I picked up the house and vacuumed... The carpet man came and steamed cleaned the house... Monkey has ST in the kitchen because the carpet man was working where they usually work in the library... We took a quick drive around town while the carpets dried a bit... I didn't have respite because staff was attending a funeral out of town and wasn't unable to come back for their shift... I watched 1/2 a movie and did a ton of laundry... Almost ready for the weekend...

Whirl Wind - Wednesday

Today could not be describe better the the title above... I dropped the boy off and then wrote out the bills for mailing... Peanut had speech... I continued to work on the bills an other household items... I went out to run errands... I stopped at the PO drop box and put in almost 10 things to be mailed including my Netflix videos... All the bills are now paid or on their way to be paid... Always fills good to be over and done with that... I stopped in Kmart and picked up Linebacker an umbrella stroller... They only had one style and I'm not thrilled with the pattern but it's more about function vs design... It will perform the purpose I need it to... Umbrellas don't last long in our family so it's also a matter of what's the best deal over prettiness too... I will need it on my next trip to the dentist because I can't hold him while I have my tooth fix like I did when I had my cleaning done... I dread being numbed... At least the issue will be fix and I won't have that funny feeling forever... It was off to pay my husband's clinic bill off... When I was in there in February they said his was paid when I was paying on mine... I though that didn't sound right but the usual patients account lady was working with someone else who was having more serious problems then me coming in to pay off an account... We received a bill saying it wasn't paid off and so I finally made it back in there today to do that... I stopped at the Cake & Candy world, a cake decorating type store, to pick up the toppings for Monkey's birthday cake... I found a really cool Lightening McQueen Candle and some other little doo dads... I also picked up a tube of pre-made/pre-colored icing... No reason to make a whole bunch of icing and coloring it for a bit of writing... I picked up Monkey's Cake from Ice Cream Plus... Their ice cream cakes are 1/2 price on Tuesdays and Wednesdays... I made a quick trip into our bank (right next door to the ice cream store) because the ice cream store only takes checks or cash no plastic not even your check/debit card from the bank... My next stop was the grocery store... I picked up just a few things like Linebacker food/juice, bananas, bread, milk, juice, mustard, tuna, spices/extracts, and candles for Monkey's cake... I looked at my receipt and it had just turned noon... I headed home for lunch and kiss my husband before he headed to work... I unpacked all the items and put them away... I ate a bowl of stir fry and chatted with friends via IM... I found Monkey's Leapster CARS game (there are several) I will buy for his birthday present... It was time to pick up the boys... No nap for me today and now I'm starting to think maybe I shouldn't have skipped it... Monkey had speech... It is his speech therapist birthday today... She's 25... Happy Birthday R! We had religious education tonight... To Be Continued...

Full Day Friday

I had a long and busy day... It was up an hour earlier then usual to ready all 5.5 of us to head to another psych appointment for our oldest... We talked about a lot of things and made some adjustments... We will see how that works out and see if we can avoid certain events from taking place... I dropped my oldest off and came home to rest... I wrapped my one eBay sale and another package for the PO... I planned out my errands for the afternoon... Peanut would have ST while I was gone... My husband said she did well today... I stopped at the bank and grocery store before I headed to see my oldest to celebrate his birthday with his friends at snack time... He had a meltdown during music time and snack time was delayed... He finally calmed down and we sang Happy Birthday then ate cake... After snack he did his milk room job... I signed the papers for the school to make the psych's recommended adjustments... We headed out to run our errands... I stopped at the house to drop off the left over cake off with the little ones and check to make sure there wasn't any last minute additions to my errands... My husband remarked we needed sodas and bread while I was out... So, my oldest and I headed downtown first to the library to return stuff due today... We had to wait for a long freight train... It was the highlight of the afternoon for my oldest... Next it was to the pharmacy... We went up to see 'the babies'... There were 3 girls today... We walked down to the 'big tree'... We made a quick stop at the bathroom and then picked up the RX... Next it was to the PO to mail the packages... We headed to Walmart... We picked up new sheets for his bed... He picked CARS as his theme... We also picked up Bread, Cokes, Diapers, Wipes and Printer Ink... I looked at Quilt Pens but didn't see what I wanted... We headed back home and I helped my husband finish up what he was doing so he could head out to do what he needed while we napped... We woke up from nap and head to McDonald's... My oldest had requested that as something he wanted for his birthday... Everyone had a great time... All that playing in the play land really wore him out... He went to bed immediately after we came home... We gave the two little ones a bath and watched some TV... Here is a picture of everyone setting up their food to eat:

Where To Begin Melting Monday

Yesterday was a good day... It was Monkey's Birthday... We went to Mass, had McDonald's Birthday Lunch (his pick), went to the library, Kmart, and grocery store... We had a Birthday Pizza Dinner with Cheese Sticks... He loved his ice cream cake from DQ... He opened all his presents and cards... For presents he received a plastic track set with train shed the included in Thomas... Gordon and Henry for the plastic track... He also recieved the Train Wash that goes with the plastic track set... He recieved Bill and Ben for the travel/take along and play set... Battery Powered Thomas for the wood track set... He has a new Thomas Bowl, Plate and Spoon/Fork Set... I will share PICS after I download them from the camera...

Today was a quiet and tiring day... 80 Days Left To Go... None of us are adjusting well to the time change... We overslept 20 minutes... That is a lot in our house... LOL... I didn't go any where except to drop off and pick up my oldest... On the way home from picking up my oldest I ran to the bank to cash a check and drop something off at a friend's house... It was ALMOST nice enough to walk... How exciting is that... Just a little peek at spring... Everything is starting to melt just a bit... It is still above freezing at 1/2 past 8 at night... I received a new quilting book today in the mail called 40 Bright and Bold Paper Pieced Stars... I also received more foundation paper and a 12" add a quarter ruler for those really long pieces that need to be trimmed... My 6" add a quarter wasn't working so well any more... My oldest had a rough start to ST but settled down and worked well today... He had an off weekend... Not sure if the time change is related... We could really use some prayers relating to him... I'm signing off to rest up for a very busy morning/day tomorrow...

Food Friday

I filled out a form this morning to apply for something that will greatly help our family... They will call me for an interview once the paper work is processed... I hope we qualify because this could mean so much to our family... Today is Pay Day always a happy day in our house... We will be doing some more shopping this weekend for Christmas probably... The first of the Christmas gifts that arrive VIA the mail came today... So, I will be taking the children out each individually to pick up things they need... The boys have grown and worn out their shoes yet again... So, we will wrap the boxes and the boys will use them... My little princess is wearing out her tights... I also hope to find her some thermals (mini cuddle duds)... That will save wear in tear on her tights... She is a very active peanut... My friend and I weren't able to visit the Asian Markets again today... Her mother came in from out of town and they spent the day together... It was a pretty quiet day at home... I wrapped my husband's birthday present... What do you think?

Weather Channel™ Combination Radio & Cooler
Take your music anywhere you go — to the beach, the park, fishing or just hanging out in your backyard. Plus, it's insulated to keep your food and drinks icy-cold. AM/FM radio.

He asked for this... His current one is all worn out... He has a mini igloo type one now... He uses it to keep his check book, coupons, recipets, frequent shopper cards and stuff like that so his wallet isn't all fat... He doesn't use it to keep stuff cold except on occasion he will toss a couple soda cans in if we will be out for a while... I prefer a bottle of water...

I know he will be excited when I give it to him... I will share b-day PIC soon... We need to find a cake carrier (round)... He wants a double layer chocolate cake this year with white icing...
