Weeding Through Things - Wednesday

I took some time after much input from everyone after my 'plate' publishing and have almost given my life a complete overhaul... I'm still mid overhaul so the complete effects aren't evident yet but things have really improved... Reflecting on recent discussions on the Feasts: Triumph of the Cross and Our Lady of Sorrows has helped me to evaluate my life... Continued prayers and suggestions are always appreciated... Thank you!

Beautiful photo, Caroline! I'm so glad the recent feasts have been helpful is eliminating what isn't truly important.

One thing I wanted to share: we've eliminated a lot of really neat extracurriculars. I felt conflicted and sometimes still do. Feeling like we're missing out on something great

On Monday a dear friend came by to teach the littles how to knit using looms. Guess what they've been doing every spare minute they get? Yup, knitting! If we were so busy running to those extracurriculars they wouldn't have time to practice their knitting. They are quite proud of themselves and their newly acquired skill. For me, it's affirmation that we made the right choice in choosing to remain home more during this season in our lives.

Prayers continuing for you all Caroline. I am happy to hear that you are taking some time to figure out what is really necessary and what can be put on the back burner for awhile. You need time to just be.

My! I didn't realize all that was on your PLATE!! Of course, I haven't made a list of my own & the sight of yours doesn't really make me want to complete that task. Still, it would be good to do. Moving has necessarily cut out a few things, and that is good. However, it's also made some things more difficult to get done. I've had to become much more efficient and time conscience in scheduling.

In the past, I have tried to write out all my activities/involvements on a master calendar. I try to make sure there is at least one day during the week that is completely free - this year it's Monday. Other days may be free, but Monday I will SAVE for home.

Besides the list you made, I'd encourage you to make a list of your priorities - which activities are absolutely important?? That will help in paring back, too.
